WHY CHOOSE
RUFF HIKING AND PET SITTING?
MEET THE FACE BEHIND RUFF HIKING...
Hi there! I'm Shaunna Masiello, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the founder of Ruff Hiking and Pet Sitting. With 16 years of combined personal and professional experience with animals, this venture is truly a labor of love for me.
In March of 2022, I took a leap of faith, leaving my full-time job to dedicate myself entirely to Ruff Hiking and Pet Sitting. It didn't take long for me to realize that this is not just a job for me; it's a passion. Prior to this, I spent five years in specialty pet retail, delving into various aspects of pet care.
My expertise extends to dog and cat nutrition, dog cognitive behavior and training, and a rewarding stint in a doggie daycare facility. In the realm of pet retail, I've had the pleasure of caring for a diverse array of animals, from the unique and fascinating, such as chameleons, snakes, mantids, and tortoises, to the beloved small mammals like rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets. Birds of all shapes and sizes hold a special place in my heart, and my experiences with farm animals, including cows, goats, sheep, horses, and more, enrich my understanding of animal care.
My commitment goes beyond the ordinary; I have experience caring for senior and handicapped dogs and cats, providing oral and injected medication, re-wrapping bandages, and assisting with mobility. Volunteer work at a veterinary hospital has equipped me with the skills to handle sick animals with care and attention.
Whether your pet is a furry friend, a scaly companion, or a feathered family member, I treat each one as part of my own family. In my home, the focus is 100% on the animals, ensuring their mental, physical, and social well-being. When caring for your pets in your home, I strive to replicate their routine to minimize any potential stress.
Rest assured, your pets are not just in good hands; they are in caring hands. I am committed to making sure they are as happy as can be while you're away. Your pet's needs will be met with the utmost attention and devotion.
